SOP/Command/Captain

From Blimpuf Station
  1. All Captains are explicitly vetted by NanoTrasen, and Captains of NanoTrasen Stations are considered the absolute authority on their station.

  2. NanoTrasen Captains are to be held to the highest standard of dignity, and should not through incompetence or disloyalty bring dishonour to NanoTrasen.

  3. The Captain may fill in for the duties of any absent, unavailable, or incapacitated heads of staff. The Captain is expected to abide by their respective SOPs when acting in this capacity.

  4. Unless on Code Red, the Captain is not to procure armory weapons, unless directly authorized by the Head of Security. Additionally, the Captain may not requisition arms from science or cargo for themselves unless there is a direct threat to station or crew.

  5. The Captain should make all reasonable accommodations to appoint a new head of staff should a position become vacant. The new head of staff must be an existing member of the department.

  6. The Captain should work with the Head of Security to ensure that Space Law is being applied properly.

  7. The Captain is to remain on station at all times, unless otherwise authorized by Central Command, or leaving with the crew on the evacuation shuttle.

  8. The Nuclear Authentication Disk must remain with the Captain at all times. The Captain may also assign this duty to the Head of Security or CCE Officer.

  9. Central Command contact should be the last resort for the Captain when dealing with head of staff disagreements.

  10. The Antique Laser Gun is to stay in its case, unless there is an immediate threat on the station or it is Code Blue or higher.

  11. The Captain is not permitted to wear their hardsuit unless there's an active environmental danger or a threat on their life.

  12. While the Captain may choose to alter SOPs in various circumstances, any attempt to fully disregard SOP is to be considered sufficient evidence for contract termination.

  13. You may, as Captain, fire a head of staff with reasonable justification.
This list is not comprehensive, but may include:
    • Incompetency.
    • Criminal activity.
    • Industrial negligence.

  14. The Captain may not fire any Nanotrasen or Central Command Personnel (Central Command Enforcer, Magistrate, Central Command Representative, NanoTrasen Career Trainer, or the Internal Affairs Agents) without permission from Central Command. If a Central Command Personnel presents an active danger to the station or crew, the Captain may remand them to their quarters for the remainder of the shift.

  15. The Captain may not hire any staff to a Central Command Personnel position (see above).

  16. In the absence of a Magistrate on station, the Captain is expected to fulfill their duty of adjudicating criminal trials. The Captain is expected to follow all Magistrate SOP while doing so.
