- The Magistrate is to ensure the preservation of Space Law aboard the Station.
- The Magistrate presides over any Judicial Trials on the Station as the Judge, and provides the Final Verdict in accordance with the crimes and evidence provided for them.
- It is the responsibility of the Magistrate to ensure station resources are not wasted by frivolous or exceptionally one-sided cases being brought to trial.
- The Magistrate must keep a copy of all paperwork pertaining to trials either on hand or within their office, and must have a copy faxed to Central Command for recordkeeping.
- While the Magistrate works with the Head of Security, and are the authority on all manners pertaining to the law, they are not the Head of Security, and do not coordinate their forces.
- Should a member of the Command Staff or Central Command Personnel end up on trial, the Magistrate is expected to work with the Central Command Representative to determine a course of action. If the Central Command Representative is on trial, Central Command is to advise a course of action. Should Central Command be unavailable, the Magistrate is to use their best judgement for what would benefit the station and the company.
- Executions approved by a Magistrate do not require approval from any other member of the crew. Central Command should be immediately informed of all execution and DNR orders.
- The Magistrate may issue changes to Space Law at their discretion. Any modifications to the law are considered as applying to both the station and any shuttles that dock to it, until they are relived of duty at Central Command. Changes to Space Law should only be performed when absolutely necessary, and in the interest of NanoTrasen.
- All legal rulings performed by a Magistrate are considered final, and may not be challenged by any member of a crew, including the station Captain.
- Alongside the Central Command Representative, it is the Magistrate's duty to ensure NanoTrasen Corporate Secrets are kept secure. Breaches should be reported to Central Command immediately.
